For those who are interested, this video shows a little bit of the science behind the chronic inflammation of IBD. It speculates on the possibility that bacteria are behind the cause of the disease. As a disclaimer, there is still no conclusive evidence pointing to this being the major cause behind IBD.

I feel it is very important to be an informed patient in order to receive the best treatment possible by your Doctor. Two years ago, my personal physician told me that I finally knew more than he did about Crohn's disease and our partnership in my treatment has kept me out of a flair a lot longer than many.

    That is so great that you are able to have that kind of relationship with your doctor. I think it is so great when you can be extremely knowledgeable about a subject and be able to inform your doctor about it.

    I found this video really interesting. It made me learn a whole lot more about this disease and what exactly happens when someone suffers from this disease. I'm just really glad that someone has come up with a new way of helping solve the problem

    Advancements in treatment and care are great to see in any health condition, but it takes on a whole new meaning when you actually have that particular disease. This was a great video, and I have appreciated the opportunity to learn more about Crohn's Disease from you, as well as some of my other classes in public health. There is a lot of work to be done and progress to be made. "Yea" for public health!
